Lynda’s Year

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

I’m sitting at my Mom’s house watching the Rose Parade at the moment – a little bit late and possibly a dollar short.  But God is good and life is good.

Let’s see if I can bore you with a recount of 2015.  this is actually for my benefit because if I remember that we have a website of Christmas letters I can come here and read about all the things in my life that I’ve forgotten about!  handy.

  • I still work at PBCC and I still live in Campbell and I’m still married to Ray.  I’m still knitting and trying to work through all that yarn I bought at the San Diego yarn crawl in September, 2014!  might take a couple more years.  🙂
  • New in 2015 – I’ve started quilting.  LOVE all the beautiful fabrics available for quilters these days!!  And, yes, I’m already building up fabric stash.  San Jose Opera with the Bells – so awesome!  Being empty-nesters and happily discovering that Ray and I still like each other.
  • Ricky has been out of the house most of the year.  He took 2 months, june and july, to travel to. southeast Asia with his buddy Christian.  Here’s a link to his blog if you are curious.  Then, on his return to the USA he spent another month in the midwest attending a tabletop game conference and then roommate gathering and house-hunting in Kansas City, MO.  He was back in Campbell for the month of September and then packed (most) all of his worldly goods into his Honda Civic and drove to his new home.  It’s a three-day drive.
  • Alex has been living in Seattle for nearly 2 years now!!  he’s apparently still enjoying all that rain and is developing a new interest in cooking!  I loved that his whole Christmas wish list was kitchen tools and even better, he helped with meal planning and cooking while he was here for Christmas.  He has a killer (and easy) macaroni and cheese recipe – perfect with a broccoli soup he taught me.  The highlight though was eggs benedict on Christmas morning – amazing what you can do if you watch cooking shows on YouTube enough.  🙂
  • Travis, moved in with his girlfriend Kellen this year so we don’t see much of him, but we are enjoying getting to know Kellen and her family!  T&K just adopted a 1-year dog named Winkie – so we have a grandpuppy!  Didn’t expect that!  They did a good job puppy-picking and they are taking very good cared of him.
  • Family vacation cruise to Alaska!!  What stunningly beautiful country.  I’ll add a picture if I can find one – I think they are lost somewhere in the cloud. 🙂

In 2016 we hope to

  • take a trip up to Seattle with Richard and Lucinda King to visit Alex and Ian.
  • Finish painting and then move into our new (giant) shed.
  • Visit the east-coast Barbieris.
  • Enjoy friends and family.
  • Finish the laundry room.

I wish you and yours many blessings in the coming year and hope we get to hang out with you.

Lynda

  1. Loved having you & Janet over…she seemed to feel comfortable with me which was my prayer…so glad her health is doing well. You were a great sis during her treatment. Enjoyed the rest of your update too…we need to go out again sometime!??lathy

  2. Hi Lady! This sis a cool website. I have paper hard copies of letters from years gone by, but haven’t sent one out in much too long- including address update?
?Merry Christmas to you and yours and HNY!
If you make it up to Seattle, you’ll just have to hop the cascade Amtrak to Bellingham, and come here for a few days! We have 3 spare rooms! And two great little quilt shops!
Did you know that Evan and Natalie Cook live in Seattle, and Justin and Maren Claussen live near Seattle as well?
On a side note, Ben left SLO, and is now living, working, and going to school in Portland, OR.

    Blessings in the New Year!
