Lynda’s year 2016

Hmmm, what did happen this year?

Seems like it was a pretty quiet year.  No big-deal family trips. We did (finally after 18 years) install cabinets in the laundry room – it’s awesome now.

And we finished building and painting a new shed in the back yard.

In April the Behrens family gathered in Bishop to scatter my dad’s ashes – shhhh, don’t tell anyone.  We visited some of our old haunts and I was surprised to find that my memory of just how beautiful the Eastern Sierra is had faded a bit. Here’s an example:

Mono Lake

We started by driving to Reno in a snowstorm.  8 hours later we made to our hotel. It looks pretty in the pictures but it was really no fun.

We scattered the ashes above the house that my parents built and paused for a bit to honor his memory. Here are a few pictures from the trip:

We also visited Alex in Seattle along with Richard and Lucinda King – longtime friends who also happen to be the parents of Alex’s roommate, Ian.

And we visited our youngest son Ricky in Kansas City. It’s different having family so spread out.

Thanksgiving was our big family celebration.

Travis and Kellen appeared in the Shoestring Theater productions of Seussical!  It was a fun show and they were adorable together – my unbiased opinion of course.

Fun letter! Will read Ray’s next. It IS weird to have your kids spread all over…tho yours thoughtfully at least didn’t go any further than MO! (I like KC! My nephew also lives there.)

Nice to hear things are going well with everyone. A trip to Kansas City should include a stop at the Krugs in Colorado 🙂

Thanks for sharing the touching tribute to your dad. And I love the pictures – Alex on Star Trek! Plus it looks like Ray is my guy to fix some shed doors that were not hung well!

Great page Lynda. Thanks for sharing your year with everyone. The pictures of Eastern Sierra are a reminder of how fortunate we are to live in this area. Yet the U.S. has many fantastic areas, Seattle and Kansas City to name two, both of which are only a short flight away. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
